London is the live music capital of Europe. On any given night, hundreds of gigs happen across the city, from stadium tours at Wembley to basement shows in Dalston. For concert photographers, London offers unmatched variety and a constant stream of world-class artists.

Top Music Venues in London for Concert Photography

Brixton Academy (O2 Academy Brixton) is one of the most photographed music venues in the world. The sloped floor, art deco interior, and 4,921 capacity create an atmosphere that translates powerfully into images. The photo pit runs the full width of the stage with good sight lines. Roundhouse in Camden is a converted railway engine shed that produces some of London's most visually striking concert images. The circular architecture and industrial ceiling create unique framing opportunities.

Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally) offers a rare combination of grand Victorian architecture and modern concert production. The Great Hall holds 10,250 and the West Hall handles smaller shows. For intimate photography, The Jazz Cafe in Camden, Scala in King's Cross, and Village Underground in Shoreditch each offer distinct visual characters. Electric Ballroom, KOKO (recently reopened), and Shepherd's Bush Empire round out the mid-size circuit.

London Music Festivals

All Points East in Victoria Park brings major international headliners to East London each August. Field Day, Wireless Festival, and South Facing at Crystal Palace all offer distinct photography experiences. For electronic music, fabric remains London's most influential club, while Printworks (RIP) set a new standard for immersive event photography before its closure. The city's festival calendar runs from May through September with something every weekend.

Getting Media Accreditation in London

London's accreditation landscape is competitive. Major venues and promoters (Live Nation, AEG, SJM) handle press through established channels. Building relationships with promoters like Eat Your Own Ears, Dice, and independent bookers is essential. Smaller venues like The Windmill in Brixton and The Lexington are more accessible. Coda Photos maintains an active presence across London's live music scene. Our photographer network covers events from intimate pub gigs to arena shows.
